Steve Perkins honored at annual conference in Alexandria
Luverne, MN - Steve Perkins, Sanford Hospital Luverne Community Advisory Board Chair, was honored on July 10, 2009, for completing a Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) board member certification program.
Certifications were awarded at MHA's 23rd-annual summer trustee conference in Alexandria.
Perkins was one of five hospital trustees to earn the designation under the voluntary program, which verifies their efforts to remain up-to-date on health care issues; hone their leadership skills; and develop governance best practices.
To achieve the designation, participants had to earn, for example, 35 education units in topics as varied as strategic planning and positioning and patient safety and quality.
"This certification demonstrates that leaders of Sanford Hospital Luverne, like Steve Perkins, take their stewardship role very seriously," MHA President and CEO Lawrence Massa said. "This designation is just one more indication that Sanford Hospital Luverne maintains high standards of excellence."
Mark Henke, CEO at Sanford Hospital Luverne, said, "We're grateful for Steve's valuable contributions to Sanford Luverne. We congratulate him on this accomplishment, which recognizes his knowledge and skills in the area of hospital governance."
